제26회 전주국제영화제 <핑크문> 상영 25.04.30 – 05.09

has been invited to the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival,
as part of the Korean Cinema section.

1939년생 윤석남은, 고등학교 졸업과 동시에 가족을 부양하며
맏며느리, 아내, 엄마로서 ‘주어진 역할’을 충실히 해냈습니다.
하지만 마흔이 되던 해,
그녀는 자신이 왜 태어났는지 질문하게 됩니다.
79 년 4월 25일,
화가가 되기로 결심한 그녀는 생활비를 털어 화구를 샀고,
그림에 인생을 바치기로 다짐합니다.

모두가 ‘취미’로 여기던 그림이었지만,
그녀는 한국 페미니즘 미술의 1세대로 자리매김하며
이중섭 미술상 최초 여성 수상자가 되었고,
팔십이 넘은 지금까지도 붓을 놓지 않고 있습니다.
예술가에게 재능보다 더 중요한 것이 무엇인지
그 삶을 통해 묻는 감동의 다큐멘터리입니다.

Born in 1939, Yun Suknam lived as a daughter-in-law, a wife, a mother— until, at forty, she asked herself: 
Why was I born?

On April 25, 1979, she chose to begin again.
With a set of brushes and quiet resolve,
she vowed to give her life to art.

From homemaker to pioneer of Korean feminist art,
she became the first woman to receive one of the nation’s most prestigious awards.
Now in her eighties, she still paints—
a life that asks us:
What matters more than talent in the making of an artist?

a post-screening conversation will be held with artist Yun Suknam and director Han-seok Yoon in attendance.
